Where science and spirituality meet to propel human growth
Where science and spirituality meet to propel human growth
In my pursuit to find evidence of the soul, I discovered that some physicists are leading the way. The renowned astrophysicist Richard Conn Henry from Johns Hopkins University and author of one book and over 200 academic publications published an article titled The Mental Universe. In this article, he makes the argument for metaphysical phenomena. In the article, he states,
“As observers, we are personally involved with the creation of our own reality. Physicists are being forced to admit that the universe is a “mental” construction…. Pioneering physicist Sir James Jeans wrote: “The stream of knowledge is heading toward a non-mechanical reality; the universe begins to look more like a great thought than like a great machine. Mind no longer appears to be an accidental intruder into the realm of matter; we ought rather to hail it as the creator and governor of the realm of matter… The universe is immaterial-mental and spiritual”.
In physics, the double-slit experiment which emphasizes the complex interaction between the observer and the observed in our universe and illustrates that awareness is the key factor in determining the nature of reality. This idea is a key subject of Dr. Conn’s discussion.
The implication of this is that our minds and our spirit have metaphysical influence over our environment. In other words, what you think determines your reality. Jesus knew this. That is why he stated,”
Therefore, I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours”. This is how New Thought authors have interpreted the scriptures of the Bible and of other major religions.
Understood correctly, these religions teach us how to open ourselves to the Infinite and live in harmony with our environment. Some of them also teach us how to control our environment with our mind. But as God has granted us free will, not only can we reach divine heights, but we can also fall to evil lows. When we use spiritual laws for good, our lives can be idyllic, peaceful, and full of plenty. As Jesus stated, the “Kingdom of heaven is at hand”. If we misuse these spiritual laws, misery, pain, and evil will follow. Simply put, you are, and your life is what you think all day, every day. The Biblical proverb states, “As a man thinks, so is he,” and Buddha exclaimed, “What you think, you become. What you feel, you attract. What you imagine, you create.” What your objective mind imprints on your subjective mind, your subjective mind as the entrance to your soul will communicate it to God to enact it. It is vitally important to understand that this is whether the thought is good or bad for you.
To someone who thinks life is arbitrary and chaotic, that is what they will impress, and their life will be arbitrary and chaotic because they are impressing it. Good or bad things might happen to them. This is the state in which most people reside. It is also true that this ability to change the world around you with your mind gets stronger metaphysically as you become more cognizant of it. With this growth of power in mind, you must be careful of your thoughts. You can create a wonderful life, or you can destroy your life with this power. Moses told us that the spiritual laws around us can be a blessing or a curse.
Now, there is a subconscious level to our thinking that we will address in further articles. Our reality is based on what is going on in the subconscious and the conscious. This is why forgiveness and truth are important in concern to your metaphysical powers, and you must send positive suggestions to your subconscious.
